This weekend the Uniting Church will participate in a wonderful ecumenical event.

The National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) is holding its triennial Forum in Canberra. All 19 of the Member Churches of the NCCA are invited to attend and participate.

The Uniting Church will be represented by

  • President Dr Deidre Palmer
  • President of Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress Rev Garry Dronfield
  • Assembly General Secretary Ms Colleen Geyer
  • Rev Dr Morag Logan
  • Rev Dr Ji Zhang
  • Ms Emma Parr
  • Ms Bethany Broadstock
  • Mr Andrew Johnson
  • Mr Rob Floyd

The NCCA Forum is an opportunity for Member Churches to deepen their relationship with each other as a visible expression of the unity we have in Christ. Members will also be able to share their joys and discuss issues of common concern.

The Forum will receive reports from the works of the Council in the past three years and make recommendations on work to be undertaken in the following triennium.

The Forum is blessed to have the opportunity to hear from Metropolitan Geevarghese Coorilos.

Rt. Rev’d Dr Geevarghese Coorilos is the Moderator of the World Council of Churches Communion on World Mission and Evangelism as well as Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese of Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church and President of Kerala Council of Churches.

Rev’d Dt Coorilos will speak on the theme of the forum, ‘Living and walking in the Holy Spirit: Called to transforming discipleship’.
